About Us
Berry Ridge Orchard is located near Gibbons, Alberta, Canada, which is about 30 minutes north of Edmonton. The orchard overlooks the beautiful Sturgeon River valley, which is why “Ridge” is part of our name. We planted our first saskatoon bushes in 1993, and we planted more the next year and the year after that, for a total of about 40 acres of saskatoons.
Our emphasis is the production of frozen saskatoon berries for sales to commercial customers, but we welcome U-pickers as well. We machine harvest the berries and clean them, bag them, and freeze them on site. You can view the whole process by watching our berry harvesting video here.
My name is Wade Fossum, and I run the orchard with the help of my family, friends, and employees during harvest time. During the off-season, I spend part of my time doing video and photography work. You can view my portfolio at www.wadefossum.com.
